Dear WhatsApp support team,
Since version 220.127.116.11, a WhatsApp crash is preventing our users from using your app in conjunction with our FlickType keyboard. FlickType is a keyboard for blind and low-vision VoiceOver users, and unlike most other keyboards, it takes up the entire screen when it pops up. The WhatsApp crash occurs as soon as the keyboard pops up in a conversation textfield, and following our investigation we have concluded that WhatsApp does not correctly account for the possibility of the keyboard covering the entire screen, resulting in WhatsApp crashing (the keyboard itself is operating as expected and is not crashing). Please note that the problem does not always happen, and seems to be more likely to happen on threads with a lot of messages, as opposed to threads with only a handful of messages.
While there are no steps that can reliably reproduce the issue, below are some more technical details that should assist you in addressing the problem:
We are more than happy to help in any way we can. We can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org and @FlickType on Twitter to answer any additional questions you might have, and help resolve the issue as quickly and as easily as possible.
Thank you for your time, and we're really looking forward to being able to use WhatsApp with FlickType again!
