FYI the creation of the 2 subgroups was done for the following reason:

The number of beta testers has increased dramatically, and keeps increasing faster and faster, and with that the number of messages will soon be problematic for folks looking to find something specific as well as keep their inbox under control. The alpha group will take away some of that volume and will also ensure that the beta releases, even though less frequent, will be more polished and probably trigger fewer bug report messages. In a similar fashion, once FlickType hits the App Store later this month, many people will want to join the discussion but will not be interested in anything related to beta or alpha builds.

Hope this helps, and please let us know how we can further improve this, we are open to ideas.

Just to add to this, the app crashes too. It opens, gets to where the
keyboard appears, and then crashes. It is every time the app is launched
without fail. I can't even send feedback through the test flight app
because that crashes as soon as I go under the Flicktype section. I'm on an
iPhone 7

Paula and Dave,

You can also accomplish ease of transfer of your FlickType output by turning on the copy and clear on exit setting which right now is the first one in the behavior section. Then, after you type the text you want to copy to Facebook or some other app, you just go to that app in your App Switcher or launch it and paste your copied text into the appropriate text box. FlickType will have automatically copied your text when you left it and went to the other app and when you return to FlickType, the input area is clear again ready for your next typing session. This saves considerable time as there is no need to go to the menus after typing.

Happy FlickTyping.

Hi, I am a new member here. :) I’ve just downloaded the Flicktype beta. With the original Fleksy, you could send text directly to Facebook, Twitter, or via text to anyone in your contacts, but I cannot work out how to do this now. Can anyone tell me if this is still possible, and how to do it?

flicktype crashing

Hi. I'm using flicktype on a 7 plus with 11.3. I've reinstalled the app through TestFlight and was typing away when all of a sudden it read what I typed and crashed. I was not finished typing and couldn't continue and had to close out and start over.

I love the crap out of these new settings. I've written two texts with this beta today, but was only using one earbud to do it... The audio panning functionality is brilliant. It serves as a fun way for us to determine where we are while typing versus where we want to be. In other words, an innovative learning tool for accuracy. Loving it. Also, the volume, and tap options are working well here. I've customized both to my preference, and an happy to have the alternative tap option back in portrait mode.

Not seeing a message on start-up. It just launches into the app proper, and is ready for usage. Granted I'm running a beta of iOS, not sure if that is a factor, but so far, everything I've tried is working well.

Subject: [flicktype] Release #32: More sound improvements, quick reply links, and new settings

App changes follow below. Please report all your feedback by replying to this topic. Thank you for testing FlickType!

In this release:
- Settings reorganization
- Added information for some settings.
- Fixed Quick Reply links. Information in settings.
- Internal sound logic revamp. Please report latency and volume issues.
- Stereo panning for tap sound effects. Try with headphones and tell us what you think.
- Choice of tap effect.
- Choice of tap volume.
- Choice of pitch for "Spell words".
- Choice of verbosity for "Raise to read back".
- Always show "Copy & clear" menu option, even when "Copy & Clear on exit" is enabled.

Earlier changes:
- Fixed app startup freeze on iOS 10
- Lowered the pitch of the new deletion sound.
- Restored the original tap sound, but a bit louder than before. New tap sound is used in landscape, tell us what you think!
- Use lower pitch when spelling words, rather than higher. Thanks Daniel!
- Don't use higher pitch to announce tokens with numbers or symbols.
- Fixed double announcement of typed text when invoking the menu.
- Added back missing voice feedback when VoiceOver is disabled. Note: having VoiceOver disabled is generally unsupported. For best results, please ensure VoiceOver is enabled when using FlickType. You can set your accessibility shortcut to include toggling VoiceOver when you triple-click the device button. Reading of punctuation is known to be buggy when VoiceOver is disabled.
- Complete revamp of of all sound effects: taps, deletions, errors, and more. Tell us what you think!
- Deletion announcements will now always use a lower pitch, and will not use the word "Deleted". You can turn that back on from the settings.
- Updated deletion sound effect, hopefully this is less intrusive. Thanks Serina! You can now also turn it off from the settings.
- Words with numbers and symbols will now be announced correctly and in detail, even if they contain no letters.
- Apostrophes in contractions like "it's" will be announced. Thanks Alan!
- Capital letter announcements will use the shorthand "cap" prefix instead of the full word "capital".
- Fixed pronunciation of colon symbol. Thanks Yana!
- Fixed wrong iPhone X keyboard positioning when in landscape mode.
- Added a few more words to the dictionary.

Please report all your feedback by replying to this topic. Thank you for testing FlickType!

Kosta & Ashley

PS: Don't forget to invite your friends! The more testers we have, the faster we can improve the app.

Using the term “sharing” might be more consistent with similar functionality throughout iOS.
