Re: Losing focus

Ok, I have deleted flicktype, restarted my device and installed a fresh copy of the app. This made no difference though.

Its gotten to the point where I am having to resort to FlickType classic to enter my text. And paste it in text areas. If you like, I could send you a screen recording of the problem and we could proceed from there. Regards Daniel

Yes I have tried restarting my iPhone 8. Issue came back though. Version 11.4.1 (15G77) Should I try deleting FlickType and downloading a fresh copy from the App Store again. Am thinking something happened when I moved from beta, back to release version. On 9 Sep .2018, a:54, FlickType <hello@flicktype.com> wrote:

Hi Daniel. Have you tried restarting your device? And what iOS version are you on?

Losing focus
Daniel McGee
Hi all
Is anyone suddenly experiencing the loss of Flicktype focus in the default mail app with the current app store version? By loss of focus , I mean that the Flicktype keyboard will suddenly disappear on me and take me back to the default one. After this though, the FlickType keyboard fails to come back , even when I double tap on the button.

Also, I've been having difficulty navigating by sentence and word within a document with flicktype. If I want to insert text into multiple parts of a document I can't use the navigation commands to navigate to a different part of my document.

I agree. What is sad is the keyboard is working so well in all the apps I use, that I forget what an incredible piece of magic flicktype is!..😎 Chuck

Shake to undo while using flicktype
Kimber Gardner <kimbersinbox1963@...>
Hello,
I noticed some strange behavior while typing with flicktype. When using the standard English iOS keyboard, shake to undo allows me to erase whatever I have typed. However if I typed using flicktype then shake to undo, a prompt appears that says "redo typing" rather than "undo typing." If I tap that button I am returned to the document but nothing has changed. I guess this makes some kind of sense since redo and undo are not the same thing. But since the function is shake to "undo" shouldn't flicktype maintain that functionality? Thanks for your attention. -- Kimberly

Re: Full screen mode
Tangela M.
While this is true, Flicktype usually isn’t able to advance past full carage returns. This is a problem with many 3rd party keyboards, not just Flicktype. The same behavior can also be seen with Mbraille, for example. .

Re: Full screen mode

I think I figured out the line by line on flicktype if you’re an actual FlickType full screen with your typing that you’re typing coming up on top there I can flip up and down but if I loaded document from light notes or something and I tried flickering three fingers left or right it reads a whole screen so it must only work when you’re actually typing the document. Thanks for the help

Re: Full screen mode
Hi Ken,
Are you flicking left and right with 3-fingers? This should allow you to navigate sentence by sentence after you've typed, when you're in full screen mode. And I assume you know this, but then you can navigate with a 2-finger flick in either direction to navigate by word. Please let us know how these gestures are working for you. Thanks, Ashley

Hi Sameh,
Currently we support English and Spanish with more languages in the pipeline. Thanks! Ashley

Re: Question
Hi Ken,

Thanks for the suggestion. This happens due to an iOS limitation, not at each word, but when there's period, new line, essentially any time there's a new sentence. We're going to try to figure out a workaround for these kinds of iOS limitations, but it may take us some time to come up with a good solution. Thanks again! Ashley

Unfortunately to the best of my knowledge, this is a limitation of Apple, and not somethingFlicktype can fix. Would love to be wrong about this, however.

When I use the three finger left or right swipe all it does is read the whole document no matter what I do?

Hi Ken, the gesture to navigate by entire sentences is a three finger left or right flick, but it does not work if you have Zoom enabled.

Re: Full screen mode
Just out of curiocity, but what is this about Flicktype and the Apple Watch?
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
It used to be that a 2-finger swipe down inserted a new line or maybe that was in Fleksy, but now it does other things and I think the swipe right with a brief hold works quite well.
