Hi Harri,
What series is your watch
I don't have the app yet, but I'd be using it on a series 4.
Thanks,
Jessica

Feedback, Punctuations and more

Jean-Philippe Rykiel

Dear FlickType Team,
Using an iPhone seven with Latest French iOS, I notice that when flicking right after typing, it happens that the word is not correctly Spoken, even though it is correctly typed. Speech misses the first letter of the word,. And for example the, may be Pronounpronounced as he.A stranger thing I noticed Without being able to reproduce itThe sequence which Leeds to this behavior, is that sometimes when deleting a word, FlickType will say Beginning of Document, Even though I. Am in the middle of it.
Oh, one last thing I I. Forgot, Punctuations are no longer pronounced when flicking thropunctuations are no longer pronounced when flicking through them.
That’s it for now.
All the best,JPR

Clearing up the dictionary

Daniel McGee

Hi all, in the FlickType container app, where the dictionary is located. Besides manually deleting each entry one by one, is there anyway to clear all the words at once?

Since the beta has expired, which had a: clear all button in the dictionary tag, are there any work arounds for cleanup with the app store version.

Regards

Daniel

My recommendation would be to subscribe monthly so that if something ever happened you wouldn't be out any money. I absolutely love the keyboard, but no one knows what the future holds for flick type.

Dear FlickType friends,

We have had numerous rejections of FlickType by Apple over the last few months, most often due to the uncommon nature of our app being a keyboard for VoiceOver users. Usually the reviewer is confused by the way they need to operate the keyboard with VoiceOver, and it takes some back-and-forth before they eventually reverse their devision and let us release our updates to the App Store.

This past weekend, our update got rejected because, quote, "the app uses auto-renewing subscriptions, but it is not an appropriate use of the service". This has happened before, and after our detailed explanation and position they agreed to reverse their decision at the time. It would seem that they have now either changed their policy, or this is a different person reviewing the app and for some reason they don't have the context of our earlier conversations. This is likely to happen again in the future, even if we succeed in getting the current update through.

Either way, App Store rejections and appeals to the App Review Board take a long time to resolve, time that we can better spend developing the app itself. We have therefore decided to drop the subscription model moving forward, and instead introduce a one-off purchasing fee for the system-wide keyboard, so that we at least eliminate one of the potential causes of App Store rejections and delays in the future.

We have not yet decided on the pricing, and in fact we'd love to hear some of your ideas on that. We are still hoping that we can find a price that is both reasonable for users, and also sustainable for us as a business. We also wanted to share this background information with you, and for you to be aware of the upcoming pricing changes.

Again, we welcome your thoughts in the matter, and we are thankful for all your support so far.

Warmly,

Hi Alan. Yes, answered earlier in the thread in my case--I turned everything
off there and back on, and also uninstalled the keyboard and installed it
again.

But Gordon's solution has worked in my case, though apparently not for
Paula.
They have changed the multi-way toggle of the next keyboard key in iOS 13,
at least on some devices, so that you have to double tap and slide in order
for it to work.

Hi Luke,

Kosta and Ashley do monitor this list, but they've had a rough go of it in the last year or two, including hospitalization-level illness. FlickType development has unfortunately been understandably slow because of it, since it's a two-person team keeping up with a very demanding set of circumstances. I hope FlickType development under Kosta and Ashley gets back to its previous pace because it will mean that their personal difficulties have improved or resolved.

Given that this app is on a subscription model, there really should be some active development, or some way of contacting support directly with feature suggestions or serious problems.
