Additional languages will eventually be available according to what Flicktype has said, but currently only English is supported.

Why can't I upgrade?
I tried to use the keyboard through messages on my iPhone, but it says I need to upgrade. The upgrade tab in the app but it is dimmed it is not letting me upgrade. Do I need to buy different version?

No, in order to use copy and paste you must switch to the iOS keyboard.
In the future FlickType may have a half screen option that will allow you to use all the rotor functions. Chuck

BTW, you can also enter words into the dictionary using FlickType Classic in the same way you entered them in fleksy. FlickType Classic and the custom keyboard share the dictionary.
