After app update, app refuses to load
On 2018 iPad running iOS 12, I’ve just installed tge FlickType update, restarted iPad and tge app now launches a blank page and a message pop over saying no secure connection can be made to server.

The iOS 12 release is tomorrow. Usually 10am PT. The Classic should work, 12 isn’t a major overhaul.

Thanks for that explanation. I've only ever had one device at a time so I
didn't know you could auto sync the downloads.

If you had another device using the same AppleID, when auto download is on in iTunes, apps are auto-synced when downloaded. If I download on iPhone... next time I go to iPad the app will be there.

That really sucks especially if you used FlickType Classic as often as I do. I think the ball was dropped with the timing of the removal of FlickType Classic from the Apps Store and I think

Actually, the removal of apps from iTunes backups was introduced with iTunes
12.7 which was released last September so it's been about a year that this
was the case.

Hi Alan, you are correct.
I restored my new iPhone 8 today, and Flicktype Classic, is no longer there.
If it is not in the app store, then it can't get it.
I also had the beta version of Flicktype

This is definitely a new thing from Apple. Where it must be in the app store. If you have it on another device, automatic download might be an option to get back on the new phone.

I can only comment on my own personal experience when purchasing a new iPhone a little less than a month ago and restoring my backup to it. I had an app named Snippets that I used regularly
