Flicktype and the Uber app.
Christopher Sims <cjsims@...>
Hi.
Firstly, I love your app, and Use it all the time. Making you aware that it would appear as if there is a likely issue with the Uber chat part of the app. While your keyboard is working to compose the message to my uber driver, the issue comes when I dismiss the keyboard. I'm unable to locate the send button using voiceover. This happens no matter if I am exploring by touch or flicking. I am able to locate it if I go back to the standard keyboard then the send button appears. Please could you try and see if you are able to reproduce this? I look forward to this being fixed. Kind regards, Christopher Sims e: cjsims@... phone M: 0418558275, Facebook:http://www.facebook.com/csims1

The only time I would ever disable VO would be if a sighted person were doing something with my phone. I sometimes turn off speech, as in when I’m readingwith a voiced app or listening to music and don’t want to hear notifications, but VO is of course still enabled.

However , if I swipe down, VoiceOver says bottom of document.

Latest build

With the half screen keyboard on my brand new iPad running iOS 12 beta, the keyboard does not display properly. The lower two rows are about an inch high while the top row has only about a quarter of an inch visible. This means that if letters are set to show, the top row of letters are not displayed as they are up off screen. On my iPad, I tend not to use VoiceOver much, as I have a very narrow tunnel of vision which works ok with larger text sizes, so I would love a toggle in settings so I could keep all letters on keyboard displayed as capital letters, rather than them changing to displaying as lower case after the first couple of taps. Would that be possible?

New App Store version 2.6
Please always restart your device after updating FlickType, and send all your feedback to hello@flicktype.groups.io. Thank you!
What's new: - New half-screen, direct-commit mode where all text changes are instantly reflected in the current text field. This currently only works for non-VoiceOver users due to iOS limitations, but we are still looking for ways to bring it to VoiceOver users as well. - The "Next keyboard" key and setting will be hidden on devices that have a dedicated, always-present "Next keyboard" key (such as the iPhone X), or if FlickType is the only keyboard in the keyboard list. - Bugfixes. Previously: - Reading back your text with a 3-finger press can now also be done with 2-fingers. This should also allow Accessibility Zoom users to utilize this feature, which previously conflicted with the zoom gestures. - Words will now also be spelled after moving the cursor. - Added voice feedback when VoiceOver is disabled. - Add setting to toggle "Voice Feedback", enabled by default. - You can now use your existing iOS text replacement shortcuts with FlickType. Configure text replacements from iOS Settings, General, Keyboard, Text Replacement. If you tap-type the shortcut, it will automatically be expanded into its phrase. If you type it accurately by touch-typing each letter, you'll need to flick down to expand it. Replacement shortcuts can only contain letters, but expanded phrases can be anything, including numbers, symbols, spaces, and even emoji. Be creative, smile! Please note: the replacements don't work inside the container app due to iOS limitations. Thank you for supporting FlickType, and please tell your friends if you are enjoying it! Warmly, Kosta and Ashley

Like Chuck, I turn off VoiceOver when the app is not accessible such as an introductory tutorial is an image and I need to go to the last page to continue to the app or etc. I also turn off voiceover if there is a graphic item that needs to be tapped on, which is by trial and error if it will work. In the MBraille app, I turn off VoiceOver because there is a self-voicing feature that is more responsive in using the app.

Hi costa, I would be interested in using FlickType without Voiceover. And test low vision features.

We are looking to improve aspects of FlickType for those of you who are low-vision but do not always use VoiceOver. If that sounds like you, please let us know if you would like to be added to a new small group of users who will automatically get earlier builds, and provide us feedback for low-vision features like visual announcements, keyboard and character visual indicators, high-contrast color pairs, and more. And if you know someone else who might find this useful, we would be happy to add them to the group as well. Thank you for your continued support! ☺️ Warmly, Kosta
