Looking for low-vision, non-VoiceOver users
Dear FlickTypers,
We are looking to improve aspects of FlickType for those of you who are low-vision but do not always use VoiceOver. If that sounds like you, please let us know if you would like to be added to a new small group of users who will automatically get earlier builds, and provide us feedback for low-vision features like visual announcements, keyboard and character visual indicators, high-contrast color pairs, and more. In flicktype, there is a new “reduce height” setting, which should prevent the crashes. Try that, & let us know what happens. Thanks, Jessica

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the message. We've discovered a bug on WhatsApp's side but until they address it we have added a workaround in our settings. You can access the workaround by going to the FlickType app, settings tab, scroll down to the other tab where you'll find a toggle for the "reduced height" setting. Please enable the reduced height toggle, and if you want more information you will find that just below the reduced height setting. Please let us know if we can help with anything else! Ashley

Hi Dave, Thanks for your message. I'm assuming you're on the App Store version of the app? If so, you can go to the upgrade tab to upgrade to the 7-day free trial and test out the app as a system-wide keyboard. Once you hit upgrade the account will be active and you will need to follow the instructions in the upgrade tab to enable the keyboard system-wide. Thanks, Ashley

Hi Dave,
To go from letters to numbers and symbols you can do a two-finger double tap, and then to alternate between the numbers/symbols and extended symbols it's a 2-finger single tap. A 2-finger double tap will get you back to letters, and a 2-finger single tap will alternate between upper and lower case letters. Please let us know if you have any other questions, Ashley

What's new: - Reading back your text with a 3-finger press can now also be done with 2-fingers. This should also allow Accessibility Zoom users to utilize this feature, which previously conflicted with the zoom gestures. - Words will now also be spelled after moving the cursor. - Added voice feedback when VoiceOver is disabled. - Add setting to toggle "Voice Feedback", enabled by default. - Fixed dictionary capitalization issue for automatically added words. Thanks, David! - Gesture bugfixes. Previously: - You can now use your existing iOS text replacement shortcuts with FlickType. Configure text replacements from iOS Settings, General, Keyboard, Text Replacement. If you tap-type the shortcut, it will automatically be expanded into its phrase. If you type it accurately by touch-typing each letter, you'll need to flick down to expand it. Replacement shortcuts can only contain letters, but expanded phrases can be anything, including numbers, symbols, spaces, and even emoji. Be creative, smile! Hi Daniel,
All I've found online are old articles about the problem. The typical instructions were available, restart your device and if it's still happening, sign out of the App Store and sign back in. You can do this in settings, click your name at the top of the list, iTunes and App Store, click your Apple ID and sign out. If this doesn't work they recommend you try to change your password. I want to clarify based on your last message: when you get the standard Apple ID sign-in form, this is not the app asking for your Apple ID sign in, this is coming directly from Apple. Good luck! You may cancel your subscription at any time, as this is something that Apple gives you full control over. You go to settings, tap your Apple Id at the top of the page, iTunes and App Store, tap your Apple ID and click view, scroll down to subscriptions to manage any subscriptions you buy from the App Store. Hello to the FlickType team May I please ask to terminate my monthly subscription? I tried both the free and paid version, but sadly discovered FlickType is not for me. Hear by I'm not saying FlickType is unusable. It is actually one brilliant app and a lot of blind folk find it a huge improvement to the built-in IOS keyboards. It is just me who still prefers my bluetooth keyboard above all other choices. Regards and all the best Juanita Horn
