Re: UPDATING FLICKTYPE BETA AND A BUG

Jessica D

Hello,
To update FlickType, open “test”flight, & find the FlickType app, & Push, “update” by double-tapping on it.

I’m sorry, but Ican’t answer your other question.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks,
Jessica

Hi all

Firstly, How do you update Flicktype beta?

Secondly, I founda bug besides the Flicktype crashing bug. Flicktype
for some or other reason doesn't do text replacement. Just to
clarify, I assigned the letters "SA" as a shortcut for the word
South-Africa, that being the country where I come from. When I use
flicktype and type "SA", the word South-Africa doesn't appear onscreen
as I believe it should.

Any ideas on both these issues?

Kind regards

Sameer

Re: Text predictability

Hello,
Try typing bore accurately. I found the the predictions were not as exact as I got faster with FlickType because my typing gut sloppy. Once I paid more attention to my typing accuracy, and tapped the screen closer to where the letters should be, the predictions were almost flawless.

Is there a way when I am using the app to increase the reliability of text predictability? It seems that the most recent version is even less predictable than previous versions that I have tried. Just wondering if there is a way of touching the screen that will increase predictability? Thanks for a great app.

Re: Changing keyboard to landscape

Hello, there is no longer a switch to loch FlickType in landscape mode.
As long as you have the screen rotation unlocked in the control panel you can simply rotate your iPhone into landscape and FlickType will follow.

Hi,
speaking of word prediction, can someone tell me the easiest way, while typing, to save a word to my dictionary?

Thanks,

Re: Flicktype makes Whatsapp crash!

Re: Possible compromise

Hi All,

Thanks for the recommendations. We'll be adding more customization to the app as the app is being further developed, but for now, we've found this to be the best order for the largest number of people.

Thanks!
Ashley

Re: Punctuation preference

Hi everyone,

As we further develop the app we will be adding more customization functionality but for now, we've found this to be the best ordering for the largest number of people.

Thanks for the recommendations!

Re: UPDATING FLICKTYPE BETA AND A BUG

Hi Sameer,

Jessica is correct about updating. For shortcuts, we do plan to add this functionality soon but as of now, we have not added text replacements.

Please let us know if you have any other questions,

Opinion of changing things in the app

note about flicktype I really like flicktype I believe it is a real good app that may have some things that have to be fixed and maybe you could use a half screen option as far as other things like bills and whistles I don’t really believe in that too much because this app is written to writing and you can get so far away I’m not with bells and whistle‘s that pretty soon the app lost its simplicity and his usefulness. That’s just my opinion and take it whatever it’s worth but I’ve have seen too many apps that got ruined because they got over complicated with stuff that was way beyond what they were designed to do. Hi Ashley and Jessica

Thanks for replying to me.

When I enter testflight, I am not presented with an update option (the
"open button" is there though). How do I get to update? And more
importantly, how do I update to Flicktype beta version 142 (I am
currently on Flicktype beta 137).

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Re: Text predictability

Hi Chuck,

I read this before and in Fleksy once I manually typed my name and added it to the dictionary I could touch type it pretty fast and it would usually predict it correctly. This seems to not work in Flicktype so far, I'll try again, but so far I've been having problems with that.

Sieghard

Hello,
Remember, you must end your typing session before it will be entered into the dictionary.
Once you dismiss the keyboard or change to the iOS keyboard, your name will be added.
BTW, your names contain a lot of letters and are nothing like any common words. The text prediction should work very well... I occasionally get chick instead of chuck. 😎

This works really well for me. My daughter's name is Krystal with a K. And my niece's name is Kaori. After manually entering both of these it types them just fine now when I type them.

BTW, you can also enter words into the dictionary using FlickType Classic in the same way you entered them in fleksy. FlickType Classic and the custom keyboard share the dictionary.
