A sighted user question
Daniel McGee
Hi all, even though this app is designed for VoiceOver users, I had a thought and would like to share it with you all. Even though when one has sight and can tap the spacebar, return, symbol keys to input the desired function, would they be losing a second or two of speed. The reason why I asked this, is because I wondered if you use FlickType and have vision, is it quicker from a sighted point of view to tap a spacebar or in this case to swipe right after a word and continue on typing. If anyone on the list is sighted, I hope you are able to understand what I am somewhat poorly trying to explain into words but from a VoiceOver point of view to a visual one.
Daniel

Re: Handling web addresses

By the way, once the system wide keyboard is fully functional, you will be able to enter web addresses, and email addresses etc. manually one letter at a time. Unfortunately that feature is not yet available.

At least in my testing of entering EMails and websites, when you find the dot symbol (above the letter w) or the at-sign (above the q) flick up/down, and it’ll cycle between at GMail, At Yahoo etc.; in Websites, the dot cycles between dot com, dot net etc. Hope this helps some.

For web addresses I would use the iOS keyboard.

Handling web addresses
Daniel McGee
Hi all quick question.
Once the keyboard becomes system wide across IOS, how will such things as web addresses when typing get entered correctly? At the moment, there seems to be spaces between the words example: Www. Bbc. Co. Uk Be interested to know what others think about this. Regards Daniel

Nothing is wrong, a new build is coming out very soon. This build is a huge step forward.

No Longer Receiving Builds
Brandon Cross <bcross3286@...>
HI, I am no longer receiving any builds on Testflight. I was wondering if
something is wrong, as the previous cycle of releases, a build was coming every few days. If there aren't any new builds right now, that's cool, I was mainly just checking to see that nothing had gone wrong. The build I have is 45.

Voice echo characters.
Chrystal Alexandroff <chrystalex@...>
Hi. So I am currently beta testing build 45 but before this, I was using the regular app. In both cases, I have noticed that the setting to enable voice echo on characters doesn't appear to work for me. For the record, I personally like just having the clicks in flick type, but I thought it might be worth mentioning.

How do you create a work flow or where can I learn how?

Oh, that's a good idea. Allowing workflow action extensions in the share sheet in the flick type app would be a great idea too; though a lot of the usefulness might be rendered irrelevant once Flicktype goes system-wide.

A systemwide keyboard is in alpha testing at this time. It is in its first incarnation, and it’s a little rough, but it will be refined over the next few weeks, and should be available to everybody in the very near future. Please be patient. :-) Chuck

Flip Type Question
jtkarim2126@...
I just want to start off by saying that I absolutely love the app, it is so continuous, and nice to type on, my question is, is there a possibility of integrating the keyboard into Apple's native keyboard settings, it would make typing on the iPhone so much more quicker and convenient. Overall though, you all have done a great job

Re: Words with apostrophes.
Chuck Dean
When typing emails the @ sign can quickly be entered by using the invisible symbol keys above the qwerty row.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
The @sign is above the q, and if you flick down you will also find, @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, etc. There are many useful symbols along this line. I suggest you experiment with the top row... Lots of good stuff! I hope this helps, Chuck

Yes please! and also include for those Spanish-speakers, opening question mark, and opening exclamation mark. And also why not the At-sign for when one has to quickly write out an EMail address?

Re: Words with apostrophes.

When typing with FlickType, many contractions are automatically generated when you type. For example I'd, we'll, it's, we've, shouldn't. I typed all these contractions by simply typing the letters... The apostrophe is automatically inserted.
