Hello Kosta,

 

I enabled direct touch typing and nothing happened.  It is if FlickType is locked.  I cannot dismiss FlickType.  I have to uninstall it to be able to use the iOS keyboard.  I am totally lost as to what to do.  Thank you.

I just read an article on your legal action against Apple. I commend you on protecting your product. I’m sure it will be a long road, but wishing Ashley and you the best. I’m hoping all the developers fighting back, and negative press bring some much needed change. Along with the protection and fairness those developers deserve.

A long time ago we had a $1/month subscription, and we eventually dropped it and instead charged $2 to download the app. More recently, about 2 months ago, we made the app completely free to try with a $6 charge to access the settings.

Well she was impressed that she wanted to buy the app herself. The only thing is that we saw that the price is $8.49. Is it just as easy to buy negative reviews as it is to buy positive ones?

If so, the only solution crazy enough to get Apple to sit up and finally act, might be to completely trash the review system by buying negative reviews for scam apps.

The end result of that, of course, will be that the scammers would start buying negative reviews for good apps, to return the favor. That would likely have the ultimate effect of making reviews completely useless to the average user, which would hopefully get Apple to step in.

I'm not proposing anyone actually start this kind of scorched earth war, but if I can think of it, I'm quite sure somebody else already has.

I think that Kosta is pretty devoted to keeping this going and making it useful for the blind.  On the other hand, he is just a single developer and as the OS changes and different devices come on line there is never any certainly in such a situation.  In the meantime we can enjoy it while we can.

They could sue! I’m sure they have patents and trademarks, but it’s time consuming and extremely costly. Enough to put Indy developers out of business. Could take years and like playing whack a mole. There’s another counterfeiter right behind them.
This is an Apple problem. There’s glaring issues with app approval process. There’s no incentive for them to help developers like Kosta and Ashley. Apple is going to get their cut, no matter who it comes from. How bout them apples?
It’s things like this that are putting the microscope on Google and Apple. For very good reason!!!

Hello Kosta and Ashley,

I am sorry to hear what you’ve been going through with the App Store. I hope you get all of those issues resolved sooner than later.

One of the big show stoppers for me is Flicktype not working in the mail application. I am also having a bunch of issues in 3rd party apps with FlickType not entering text in to the text field. Or the text field not recognizing the text entered and telling me to finish the form or entry. I’m honestly wondering if this is because of swiping to enter the word and it enters a space as that’s the Flicktype behavior.

One of the biggest issues for me is the space at the front of the first line of text, This happens all the time and it makes text on social media posts for my business look off and weird.

Voiceover is still having issues and stuttering after you insert a wor. It doesn’t read the word properly nor does it spell the word out correctly most of the time.Spelling the word out is the biggest issue for me in these two problems. VO starts reading the word in the middle of the word most of the time.


Also in some apps Flicktype can not be switched. Ie. I can not switch to the iOS keyboard. This is a problem mostly in number text fields.
