Hello Gina, If you are using FlickType in the native mail app, these kind of problems are inherent, and Kosta has not been able to fix them. It has something to do with the new construction of the mail app by Apple, and Fliktype and Apple‘s iOS mail client does not play well together. You shouldn’t have these problems in other applications such as messages. Chuck (mobile) Pleez x cuze enny tie ping or spelin air ores.

I'm using Flicktype on an IPhone 10 r, and I've found that Flicktype loses focus a lot. It also doesn't seem to say the words when I flick back to delete them. I'll see if using the app in Full screen mode, or one of the other modes makes any kind of difference. kind of difference. :)

In IOS 14.4 direct touch works as it did in IOS 13. You can set it to be on or off for specific apps, but by default it's on for all apps. So you wont have to turn it on each time you wish to use flick type. I use flick type every single day and it works well. I don't know when 14.4 will go public, but I would think pretty soon. I've been running the beta and it's working well and even has big battery life improvements. So this is an update you'll all want to get as soon as it goes live to the public. hi Peter, Considering the way is behaving, I’m pretty sure it’s an iOS problem, and not a Fliktype problem. Someone claims that this will be fixed in iOS 14.4. Will have to wait and see! Although it is kind of a pain, the workaround works OK, it’s only a couple more movements, I’m not going to lose any sleep over it 😎 Chuck (mobile) Pleez x cuze enny tie ping or spelin air ores.

Hello Allen and Pete, As I have said before, I use FlickType in the standard configuration, and when I want to use the full screen mode, I simply turned my iPhone into landscape. Of course, you have to have the lock rotation button turned off in the control panel. This gives me the advantage of using FlickType in the standard mode being able to navigate whatever I’m typing in, and then when I want to type something long such as a message I turn it into landscape mode, and I have all the advantages in full screen mode.

Hi Pete,
What I intended to say in my previous note was that I use the standard US English keyboard as my default and use it for entering short text such as passwords and search terms. I'm not aware of a shortcut for switching between the FlickType full screen
keyboard and the FlickType regular sized keyboard. This has to be done through the FlickType settings as far as I'm aware and takes a few steps.

First, let me say that FlickType on iOS 14.3 has the following two problems that I consistently experience: 1. When I begin text entry for example with the Messages app, my default on screen keyboard is US English. . I typically place focus in the text box and double tap to bring up the on screen US English keyboard. I then place my finger on the spacebar in the bottom middle of the screen and slide left past the dictate button until focus is on the next keyboard button. I place focus in the bottom middle of the screen on the spacebar and slide to the left until the next keyboard button has focus. 3. I single finger double tap and hold and slide my finger up until I hear FlickType and then release. 4. The FlickType keyboard opens in full screen mode. 5. I place my finger in the bottom left corner of the screen where I hear FlickType. 6. I do one rotor clockwise gesture. I do a counter clockwise rotor gesture until I hear direct touch which is usually after only one time. I single finger swipe down once and Voiceover says on. 7. FlickType now types as it should and as it always did under iOS 13.2 or so without all of these direct touch shenanigans. 8. I single finger slide up and hold to close FlickType and return to my default US English keyboard. I hope the above makes sense to others and works for you as it does for me.
