Build 131

- Internal changes

Hi Kosta,

This build is crashing WhatsApp for me.
Its a strange one though. When I open particular message threads, and double tap on the text field in order to type, the app crashes. Other message threads will be just fine.

Its definitely FlickType causing the issue because when I delete it, the crashes stop, and when I install it again, the crashes occur again.

In fact previous builds seem to be doing it too.
I am running iOS 12 beta, which yesterday updated to beta 3, so perhaps that’s related.

Hello, I just typed several messages in what's app, no problems. No crashing no problems whatsoever.

Thank you, David and Michael. Michael, are you on iOS 11 or 12?

Same as me so, assuming you are also on beta 3. I’m also iPhone X.
The thing is it’s one particular message thread, not all of them. Unfortunately it’s one of my best friends who I text quite a lot.
I can’t accurately say when it started because I spent a week or so on iOS 11 on an iPhone 7 after smashing the screen of the iPhone X. I just got it back yesterday, and so think I missed beta 2 altogether.
I had no problem when on iOS 11.

I sent you the file from analytics, at least I think I sent the right one.

Dave

Thank you David, I received the WhatsApp crash you sent, but I can't do much with it since it does not include any information about FlickType. The way iOS is structured, keyboards should not be able to crash or interfere with any other app, beyond text editing operations. That said, there could be some iOS bug that in combination with some aspect of FlickType results in this behavior - it wouldn't be the first time iOS misbehaved, smile.

Is there anything you can do on that thread, like clear messages older than a month, for example?

Michael, would be great to know what beta of iOS 12 you are running.

Thanks,
Kosta

Apologies, I never replied back to you on this. Strangely, the issue seems to have stopped. Fingers crossed I don't see it again.
I don't like deleting my messages if I can help it, so hopefully won't have to try that.
