Re: Previous builds link

Benny,

1. From the TestFlight Redeem page, place focus on the FlickType
Keyboard version 1.0-45 app and double tap (the open button will be to the
right of where you want focus to be).

2. Single finger swipe right until the previous builds button has focus
and double tap.

3. On the previous builds screen which opens, the first line says 1.0
six builds and is the only thing listed here. Double tap on it.

4. You'll be given a list of the available previous builds each with an
install button to their right. Double tap on the install button for the one
you want.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

I don't see a link on my test flight app to load a previous build. Any
thoughts? Thanks.

Hi,

Just dropping in to also confirm the dictionary import is working well. Thanks a bunch for this!

In this release:
- Fixed broken dictionary export and import flow.
- Renamed "Export dictionary" menu option to just "Dictionary", since you can also use it to read what is currently in your dictionary.

As always, thank you for testing FlickType!

Thank you George. Since the Apple Mail app is available to everyone, we think it's best for our users if we instead focus on more impactful things, like developing the new system-wide keyboard extension.

That said, I'm surprised to hear that there was no confirmation that the import took place. Once you tap the link and it opens in FlickType, you should get an alert with something like "Added 12 words to the dictionary".

Chuck, did that work for you as I described?

Thanks,
Kosta

Ok, I've just imported dictionary from backup
However, the link does not open in microsoft outlook.
When I opened it in apple mail it worked.
Can this be fixed so the link will open in other mail apps besides apple mail? Also, when import was completed, there was no notification that the import was done.
It just went back to the email message.

Kind regards,

George Cham

Build 45
I discovered something that solved the only quirk with FlickType.
Most of the time I use FlickType in landscape mode, but when I would turn the iPhone, my screen would turn black and I had to turn it back to portrait to retrieve the keyboard. By reading other posts I realized my hand was momentarily covering the ear piece and activating the raise to speak function.
As long as I keep my hand away from the ear piece it works perfectly.

Build 45
This is working very well. I have been typing for a half an hour and I haven't encountered a problem.
I exported the dictionary from my phone to my iPad Mini. I found that I needed to be running the same version on both devices for it to sync. Once I updated the iPad, the export worked very well in both directions. I was shocked at how many words I have entered.

No complaints here!

It will be interesting to see how the flick up with two fingers, will work when the keyboard becomes system wide.

Hi, no im not .

As I have limited use of my left hand, touching the screen, was an easy option.

However, flicking up from the bottom of the screen, seems to be working.

George,

You aren't by chance covering the proximity sensor when you do your 2 finger swipe up, are you? Covering the proximity sensor works the same as holding the phone to your ear to have your input read and I've also noticed that it will cause the screen to go black which makes sense with the holding the phone to your ear. You might experiment a bit with this and see if that's what's happening.

Re: Build 44

Paul Sutton

Hi, I have a suggestion but I don't know if it could be implemented. The thing is, sometimes I want to use FlickType in a noisy environment but it wouldn't be appropriate for me to use headphones. However, when I go near to my phone so I can here what I am typing I sometimes go to near my phone and accidently activate the raise to reed feature. And obviously this prevents me from typing. At the same time however it's necessary to quickly listen back to what I have typed. My suggestion would be to have some sort of gesture to use to enable me to have VoiceOver reed to me what I have written without having the need to have the raise to reed feature switched on or have to invoke the main menu and then having to swipe down to the bottom to go back. Hope that made sense, Paul

Re: Build 44

Paul Sutton

Hi, everything working at the moment. I find that the single swipe down to invoke the menu is great as I enjoy using only 1 hand to hold and type, but maybe that's just me being lazy, lol. Keep up the good work, Paul.

I do think we can make FlickType more energy efficient, but before we invest any effort in that area, I will first post the question to the beta group at some point and see how most folks feel about it.
