Hi Kosta,

I haven't seen the problem since, and I have not tried to duplicate it for obvious reasons. I'll keep you informed of any future developments. Otherwise, FlickType is working great!

Thank you Chuck.
I would chalk this up to iOS 11 being buggy, but if you keep having this or other similar issues, please let us know. - Kosta

Build 86

Hello Kosta and Ashley,
Another successful build! Its near perfect; only two more things to make me happy. Being able to insert my text replacements, and a half screen keyboard option. Thanks for all your hard work!😎 Chuck

Build 86 problem?
Chuck Dean
Hi Kosta,
I do not know if this is FlickType related or not. Last night after I updated FlickType, I was typing in different fields, and I tried filling in the fields in a new email. After I was done typing I hit cancel and then delete draft. My iPhone 8 screen went black and the phone totally locked up. No matter what I did, I got no response. I helm the power and home buttons down for 30 seconds but it would not reset. Finally, I plugged in the charge cord which eventually restarted the phone. Since then I haven't had any problems.☹️

Once again great built. There are only three things that are missing to make this a complete stock keyboard replacement for me... 1. Swipe left and hold to quick delete. I believe this was an option in the old Fleksy keyboard that could be toggled on/off in settings. It would be a nice option to have back. 2. I know this one is difficult. The option to use the swipe right and hold to activate a search field. This would be fantastic. 3. Phonetics when manually typing words. This is very helpful for the bottom row of letters. Thanks, and great job as always! Ed Worrell

Really like this. Thanks for the quick turnaround on hiding the visual word announcements. Working great.

Likewise, I don't really care for the spacebar but it's no harm having the option there. I agree the familiarity with the iOS keyboard is a good move. And for me has actually become a much better idea than the extra row above the keyboard from the old app. I would also find phonetic feedback when navigating the keyboard manually to be useful. I would also like to be able to manually type a capital letter, then complete the word with taps. Oh, and by any chance, could we have a few more emoji spots? I understand we don't want too many, but even expanding it from six to ten would be nice. I know there is a complete emoji keyboard on the way at some point, but the swipe up shortcut is nonetheless very convenient. All in all though this feels like something which is extremely close to public release. Dave

Would it be possible to get an option to turn on phonetic feedback of letters when touch typing (manual input of a word)? The latest build is great. Thanks so much. Benny

Everything is working fine on my end, although I still tend to activate control center when using the swipe up and hold gesture to switch keyboards.

Everything is working fine. It looks as if you are trying to make the manual input keyboard close to the iOS keyboard. Probably a good idea.👍

Love build 86. Visual announcement on or is it off? Means no one can see what I’m typing. And The spacebar row? Doesn’t matter to me. I’m not fussed about it

If you make a spelling mistake while manually entering a word, you can now swipe down for suggestions, and might find the correct word there. Dave

My main concern was others would encounter this problem, but since it is isolated to this App, I'll just have to remember to switch to the iOS keyboard before opening the app.

I downloaded the "Balance" app and managed to reproduce the issue. I cannot switch to the iOS keyboard, although I can often dismiss FlickType without a problem. The app has not been updated in over three years, and under iOS 11 it's running in what's called "compatibility mode". The problem seems to be an iOS bug that is specific to custom keyboards, that are running inside such apps, and in particular on numerical fields. The popular SwiftKey keyboard is also behaving the same way, although when the keyboard is not full screen you can at least navigate to other fields. What this means is that it's unlikely that I can address this rare issue that's outside of my control, apart from introducing the half-screen mode at some point in the future which might help as a workaround. As a side note, iOS also crashes that app every time you double tap and hold on the iOS "Next Keyboard" button to bring up the keyboard list. You can try that on a non-numerical textfield in that app. - Kosta On Mon, Jun 11, 2018 at 1:51 PM Chuck Dean <cadean329@...> wrote: > > > Hello Kosta, > Yes, I just tried it three times and I couldn't do anything and I had to go to Notes to change to the iOS keyboard. > > When I go back to the app and tap on the amount field it will bring up a number pad. > > > On Jun 11, 2018, at 1:42 PM, FlickType <hello@...> wrote: > > > > Chuck > > >

Hi George, if you type the wrong letter in a manually typed word, simply use a two finger swipe left or right to move the cursor to the right of the incorrect letter. Now flick left to delete the letter. Now enter the correct letter. Use the two finger swipe right to get to the end of the word. Chuck
