Re: I lost more text.
Thank you Chuck, no worries. Since the majority of folks don't seem to experience the issue, and we now have more memory logging information, we will consider releasing this build to beta in order to get a reliable signal sooner. Same goes for the issue that Benny is experiencing. With more people using a build, patterns can arise to help us figure out what's going on, and it seems that the last couple of builds are at least not utterly broken. FYI we are seeing a lot of out-of-memory crashes in the current beta build anyway, so we think this last build might actually be better for most people. Thanks, Kosta

I'll try typing as much as possible, but unfortunately I am going out of town over the weekend and probably won't be doing as much typing. Chuck

Thanks Chuck, that's strange that there was nothing there. I have not yet received your crash report from TestFlight either.
If you could try to stress test build 99, it might help us better understand what's going on. There's some added logging information in that build to better understand memory usage. By the way, last night there was an outage of our mailing list provider, groups.io. If you or anyone got any errors sending messages, you may try again now as everything seems to be working again. Thank you, Kosta

I went into analytics, but I did not find anything marked extensions or Fliktype. I went from DIRECTV to helix. I scrolled through quickly but I did not see anything else that resembled either headings. Chuck

Re: I lost more text.
Thank you Chuck. It usually takes a couple of days before I get your crash report through TestFlight. If you'd like, you can send it directly to me at beta@FlickType.com to speed up our debugging process. You just go to your Settings app, then Privacy, Analytics, Analytics Data, find and open the relevant FlickType entry, and then share using the button at the top. All FlickType custom keyboard entries will start with the word "Extension", followed by a date and time.
Thank you for your help. - Kosta

I lost more text.

I lost more text.
Hi Kosta, I just lost more text while typing in my journal at 8:34 PM Unlike before, not all the text was lost, only the first sentence or two. I have updated to build 98 before this happened. Chuck

Re: Build 98
I should note here that this is another, more aggressive reduction in memory usage, with the assumption that the crash in question is caused due to memory issues. I know that at least some of the crashes we see are due to memory issues, but there may also be other causes. That's why it's not a definitive fix for the text loss issue, and we'd love to know if we need to be optimizing even further for memory, or if we need to be looking elsewhere.
As always, please try to use the custom keyboard as much as possible. Thank you all for testing! Kosta & Ashley

I am a one finger typist. I hear the sounds but no text is written. I hope this helps.

Thank you all, I will attempt to reduce memory even further to hopefully fix the crash and loss of text.
I think Michael's issue is the same as Benny's. Michael, do you also hear a clicking sound when that single letter appears? I should also note that if you happen to type fast with more than one finger you might accidentally trigger other gestures such as switching to caps or numbers. Kosta

Hi Michael, No, that is a different problem than the vanishing text. Chuck

Hello, I am unsure if my issue is vanishing text but my issue is as follows. I may try to type a word with six or seven letters and I just hear one letter instead of the whole word. I am unsure if it is pudding a space after each letter or not but it is weird. I cannot tell you how to duplicate this issue for it is not consistent. As a matter of fact as I type this email and tried to type a word, I had thought I had typed seven letters but there was only one letter on the screen of the seven I had typed. If this makes sense? Sincerely,, mike

Hi Kosta, I was sending a text message with the iOS message app at 1:37 when I lost all my text. The last thing I did was put in a quotation mark. Chuck

The app that I am specifically referring to is called Twitterrific. I really like their implementation of the Tip Jar feature because it allows for a monthly subscription as well as different amounts for one time contributions. As I said, it would allow people who want to continuously support the app and its development to be able to subscribe to such an option, as well as even allow those who want to make one time contributions every once in a while to do so. Thanks, Salman

the envision AI app, gives people the option, to pay, with various
subscriptions, or to make a one off purchase.
Hello,
I think the ninety nine cent a month subscription is more than reasonable,
it would be a steady income stream for Kosta and Ashley, and can be cancelled by
the consumer at any time in case of some unforseen problem, like what happened
to Fleksy.
Personally, I am against a one time purchase price. This app is very
complex compared to other apps and will need constant maintenance as iOS
evolves, and if the developers are not receiving a steady flow of income, there
is no incentive to continue to work on the app.

I do though think that a yearly option may appeal to some people. For example, $1 per month or $10 for the year. Personally I'm on board whatever Kosta and Ashley decide to do. Dave

What might be a bbetter thing to do to make people more comfortable with the subscription, is do the $9.99 for 1 year. This still gets regular money coming in (not that much) and people won't feel like they are being bogged down by yet one more monthly subscription. you want people to set it and forget it, not think your competing with all the other subscriptions in life. This stuff is difficult, as there are no right answers, and there's no solution that works for everyone. I will say, the basic trend I'm seeing is $1.99 a month, or $19.99 a year and that seems to satisfy most people. You know what you could do, set it at those prices, and offer fequent sales. 4th of july ssale? convention sale? laborday sale? This way, the people that want it now will pay $2 a month and if people are waiting for a bargain, they can get one, if they want to wait. Keep doing what your doing. Your doing a great job
