Thank you for bringing spelling announcements and phoenetic feedback to the FlickType keyboard. Everything works as expected, and I am so pleased that disappearing text is a thing of the past--that is, text stopped vanishing for me in Build 105. I can also confirm that phoenetic feedback is inconsistent. I have inconsistently experienced two other problems which have not yet occurred in this build. One involved tap typing. I would write a word and be interrupted by FlickType suggestions. Actually, the problem just occurred now at 10:12 a.m. I was typing the sentence "I realized that" but instead of the word "that" FlickType interrupted me after I had typed two or three letters with a suggestion which was the word "in." I will turn off the spacebar and see if that helps. I think the other problem I have had has already been reported where I think I am about to type one letter in manual typing and actually type another. On the positive side, it may just be me, but I feel that typing is much faster in this build. Thank you. Chanelle

- Added phonetic feedback delay to mimic the iOS keyboard. Please let us know if this is better as well as consistent. Thank you!

Personally, I prefer the cuntractions the way they are. This way, I can tell if the proper spelling has been used.

Yes the phonetic feedback is now working.

I'm actually finding the time between the letter and the phonetic announcement to be inconsistent, sometimes very fast, sometimes very slow. Dave

This build is great. Just a couple things: 1. Is it possible to fix words like I'm and don't or won't, etc so they read correctly without the word broken up while typing? This worked in the old container app, but had never made it to the keyboard extension or the new container app.☺️ 2. I love the spelling and phonetic feedback, however the phonetic feedback is so quick after the letter that it either feels rushed or when I’m searching for letters I only hear the phonetic feedback and not the actual letter because I guess I’m going too fast for the app. This should behave like it does normally in iOS. Thanks so much, Rocco

Build 109
- Fixed spelling and phonetic feedback not working in the keyboard extension. Thanks to everyone who reported this.
- Tap typing will not interrupt existing speech, but it will cancel scheduled spelling announcements that have not yet begun. Thanks Macky! This also means that it will not interrupt the initial FlickType hint.

The 3 finger tap and hold is not working very well in build 108. It is very sporatic. Phonetic read back is not working in the custom keyboard while typing this email in the iOS mail app. Thanks. Benny

I can confirm as others have that the word announcements are working in the app but not if using the keyboard elsewhere. I have noticed another issue and wonder if they are related however. You've made it so that the announcement at the start will be ignored if typing begins. This has an effect if you type quickly, in that whilst the previous word used to be announced as I'm typing the next one, this is no longer the case as it cuts out, for want of a better way to put it, and the word being typed is given priority. I'm not sure how this is programmed, but in audio terms it's like the attack time and or release time of the compressor or noise gate needs adjusted slightly, most likely to make them shorter. Is this possible? Also, not sure if this is related but the three finger hold gesture to hear what I've written is still working but it's a bit of a hit and a miss in this build. I'm happy to say there has been no disappearing text though so hopefully you've squashed that bug for good👍 Slainte, Macky

Hi Kosta,

I also wanted to mention an issue that I have encountered quite often while attempting to manually enter text. I do believe that it has been mentioned before; when manually typing, the incorrect letter is entered sometimes. As in, the adjacent letter to the left or right is entered rather than the one that you wanted to enter. This can get very frustrating as one needs to keep deleting and then attempt to enter the right character again, and it may be multiple times before the correct one is entered. Is a fix for this coming soon? Salman

I am still on build 105 and will be installing 108 within the next hour. Yes, I am still having issues with flicking through the alternative word list. As stated earlier, sometimes while flicking down through the list, I will get the click sound and a single letter will be entered. I then delete that letter and continue flicking down through the original word list. I think maybe one time I had that occur when flicking with 2 fingers right and left through the typed message word by word, but the issue happens very often flicking through the alternative word list. I have not had any text missing on 105 and I will be testing more on 108. If you can figure out the alternative word list flicking problem, it sure would be great. It sure does slow down the typing when I have to delete pretty often. Thanks for the great work. I'll let you know if I find anything else. Benny

Build 107
Replaces broken build 106 from a little while ago. Sorry about that!
Please always restart your device after updating FlickType, and send all your feedback to alpha@flicktype.groups.io. What's new: - Fixed new line characters sometimes being announced as "Backslash N". Note that new lines are still not announced when moving the cursor or reading back your text. - Other stability improvements and bug-fixes. Thank you for testing FlickType! Warmly, Kosta & Ashley
