Re: Build 111 flick and hold not working as well.

Ed Worrell

Hello Kosta and Ashley,

I am having this issue as well. I am finding when I dismiss the keyboard with the swipe down and hold FlickType will put me into manual typing mode. This happens about every 3rd time of performing the gesture.

Thanks,

Ed

I've noticed a little bug by the way. It is happening in WhatsApp and the native Messages app, but not in Mail.
If I type a sentence, then dismiss or switch the keyboard. Then bring the cursor back to the start of the text field, in order to type something that I want to appear before the text I've already typed.
Any text I type there with FlickType will not successfully appear in the text field. It is just lost.
The work around is to insert a space between the cursor and the original text.

Hope that makes sense!

Kosta,
I have been testing for the gesture problem that I have had and so far so good. Flicking through the alternative word list is working very good. I have had no entry of a single letter as I am flicking through the list. Thanks for the fix.
On the down side, the 3 finger hole for read back will not always read the entire text that is typed.

- Slightly increased the word spelling delay. We are trying to find a happy medium where you can leave the spelling setting turned on, and the spelling announcement doesn't get in the way of your regular typing flow.

I have had this issue too.
But thought it was due to slipry fingers. Also. The emoji that I entered into settings are back.

I also wanted to mention an issue that I have encountered quite often
while attempting to manually enter text. I do believe that it has been
mentioned before; when manually typing, the incorrect letter is
entered sometimes. As in, the adjacent letter to the left or right is
entered rather than the one that you wanted to enter. This can get
very frustrating as one needs to keep deleting and then attempt to
enter the right character again, and it may be multiple times before
the correct one is entered.
Is a fix for this coming soon?

Kosta,
I know that some like the spell feature and I have tried with spell turned on and with it turned off. Spelling everything is just a bit too much for me. I wish there was a way to spell a particular word on the fly. If that was not possible, maybe an option to spell only the words in the alternative word list Could be considered. Just thinking. Thanks.
