Re: Build 111 flick and hold not working as well.

Hello Kosta and Ashley,

I am having this issue as well. I am finding when I dismiss the keyboard with the swipe down and hold FlickType will put me into manual typing mode. This happens about every 3rd time of performing the gesture. Thanks, Ed

I agree. With the delay as it is now, I am happy to leave the feature switched on. It doesn't interupt me too often, but I know it is there when I do need it.

I've noticed a little bug by the way. It is happening in WhatsApp and the native Messages app, but not in Mail. If I type a sentence, then dismiss or switch the keyboard. Then bring the cursor back to the start of the text field, in order to type something that I want to appear before the text I've already typed. Any text I type there with FlickType will not successfully appear in the text field. It is just lost. The work around is to insert a space between the cursor and the original text. Hope that makes sense! Dave

Hi Kosta,
I also noticed the flick and hold is not working well all the time. I have had it not work both when dismissing the keyboard and changing to the iOS keyboard. I am not sure what it is doing, and I cannot duplicate the problem. Chuck

Hi Kosta,
I have been playing with the spelling and phonetics. I think you have the delay set perfectly. Normally I would turn off the spelling, but there is enough delay so my typing is not interrupted. Good work, as usual! Chuck

I have been testing for the gesture problem that I have had and so far so good. Flicking through the alternative word list is working very good. I have had no entry of a single letter as I am flicking through the list. Thanks for the fix. On the down side, the 3 finger hole for read back will not always read the entire text that is typed. Hi, just a little suggestion regarding the spelling feedback. If you didn't want the spelling feature constantly turned on perhaps a 2 finger hold on the screen could spell back the word that you want?

Re: Checking in
I have had this issue too.
But thought it was due to slipry fingers. Also. The emoji that I entered into settings are back.

Build 111
- Fixed gesture issue where short flicks would sometimes be erroneously interpreted as long presses, which caused a single character to be entered, or a space if the spacebar row was enabled and the flick happened near the spacebar area. Please let us know if you are still experiencing any gesture issues at all.
- Slightly increased the word spelling delay. We are trying to find a happy medium where you can leave the spelling setting turned on, and the spelling announcement doesn't get in the way of your regular typing flow. Thank you for testing!

Kosta,
I know that some like the spell feature and I have tried with spell turned on and with it turned off. Spelling everything is just a bit too much for me. I wish there was a way to spell a particular word on the fly. If that was not possible, maybe an option to spell only the words in the alternative word list Could be considered. Just thinking.
