Yeah I found that inactive label on the upgrade tab a little confusing too at first.

Hi Chuck,

There’s the upgrade tab option at the bottom, but then there’s also an upgrade button at the top right of that tab’s view, opposite from the restore one. Does that help, or is that button inactive too for some reason? Kosta

Cannot upgrade FlickType.
Hi Kosta, I downloaded the FlickType app from the app store, but the upgrade button is inactive, and when I click on the restore button it says I do not have a subscription. When I tried to type it said I didn't have a subscription. Chuck

I tried to duplicate the flick and hold problem in 110, but could not. I updated to Build 111 and I still haven't seen the odd behavior. Perhaps it was just a fluke. Chuck

I reverted to Build 110. I haven't seen the problem, however, I haven't seen the problem with the flick and hold since this morning. It only happened a couple of times, and I haven't been able to reproduce since. I'll run 110 for a while and see what happens. Chuck

I found that when performing the gestured, it will depend on if my finger is wet from water, or the surface of the device.

Re: Build 111 flick and hold not working as well.
Thank you Chuck. If it's not too much trouble, can you please switch
back to build 110 and confirm that the issue is definitely not present there? I'm only asking because these gesture issues have been very hard to reproduce here, and everyone has their own unique way of performing the gestures. - Kosta

Re: Build 111 flick and hold not working as well.
Thank you Benny. The question was for everyone. I also agree that the
flick and hold gestures can be tricky to perform as reliably as other gestures. If anyone can confirm that the issue with those gestures is new to a particular build, I can investigate further. Otherwise it might be better to wait until there's more user reports, since the investigation can take a lot of time that might be better spent elsewhere. Please let me know, and thank you for all the reports. - Kosta

If this question was intended for only Chuck, I apologize. To me the gestures seem to be about the same. With that said, all of the flick and hold gestures are a little tricky. I occasionally will activate the touch typing mode. I can deal with them, but they are my least favorite gestures. Thanks.

Re: Build 111
Thank you Benny. On the 3 finger hold to read back, there are some limitations that we hope to overcome in the future. FlickType will only be able to read back text that it knows is there, and if you happen to switch keyboards or more generally switch to FlickType to edit or append existing text, iOS will not tell us what the entire contents of the text field are. Instead, we will only get the one or two sentences nearest to where the cursor is. This is the same reason why sometimes you might be unable to move the cursor past a sentence boundary, even though there might be more text in the underlying textfield. From this it also follows that the text that you read back is also the text that you can move the FlickType cursor through.
And if, for example, you start typing with FlickType on a blank textfield, and never switch out of FlickType until you are done, you should always be able to read back everything that you have typed. Hope this makes some sense, and please let us know if you are still experiencing something unexpected. Thanks, Kosta
