Re: Build 39
Build 41 is out with the only change being the following:
- Disabled the new menu gesture. Suppressing the system gesture for the control center did not work on all devices due to an iOS bug, and also caused confusion for some people on iPhone X. If that gesture worked well for you, let us know and we might add it back as an option. Thank you for all the great feedback! Planning on releasing that to beta shortly unless there's any reports of major issues. Thank you for testing! - Kosta

Re: Build 37 out to alpha
Hi Chanelle,
You were added to the alpha group on Groups.io by mistake, would you like me to send you an invite for the alpha through TestFlight or would you prefer to remain in the beta and we remove you from this group? Totally up to you! Ashley

Version 41.
I have been typing with this build for about 15 minutes, no problems to report! I am even having good success getting numbers from the top line of characters. I tried entering a few words which went very smoothly. I think you have a winner! Chuck

I'm digging the new features and appreciate the removal of the hold near top for menu; 2 finger flick up is perfect.

I am however, still seeing silent letters when using hold on letters. It's not a showstopper IMO, but just letting you guys know. That's the only bug I've seen so far with build 41. It's working like a champ otherwise. Cheers and thanks, Using an iPhone 8+ Alex

The latest 41 alpha build is great. I am not seeing any issues with manually typing characters, I am sorry to see the one finger swipe go by the way side. Thanks, Ed

Yes, I think Bill 41 is excellent, the only thing I notice is there still no indication when you are deleting a partial word. You get the same sound as if you had entered a letter, but no confirmation of the deletion. This would be helpful, but not a dealbreaker.

Version 41 I just noticed something.

Version 41 I just noticed something.
Hello, as I was sending an email with FlickType, I noticed that I used the two finger swipe up to go to menu, and then a two finger double tap to invoke the export text panel. It seemed like a very normal progression. If we keep the double tap, I think we should keep the two finger swipe up. Chuck

Here I go again... Replying to my own email.

One other thing I would like to see is 3D touch used to go directly to the export text panel, eliminating the invoke menu step. I realize that not everyone has 3D touch, but for those who do, it would be a nice option. Chuck

I agree with the 3D touch for invoking the menu. I miss the tap and hold gesture at the top half of the scream.Ed

Hi Ed,

Actually, I was thinking that the 3-D touch should be used to go directly to the export text panel. Bypassing the menu completely. Most of the time when I am using FlickType I am either sending a text message or eight email, and there’s no reason to bring up the menu, if I could go directly to the export text panel, I can completely take out one step. In a perfect world, it would give us the option to choose what we want to get 3D Touch to do. We could do either, or something else completely.

That's a good idea. I don't know if it's possible. Maybe the gesture could be user assignable, 1. Export text option. 2. Copy text 3. Invoke the complete menu.

Just a few more thoughts. Ed

Chuck,

Or you could turn on the copy and clear on exit setting and simply go to your message or email app to paste your FlickType input without having to go to the menu. Alan Lemly

Hello Allen,

I have copied and clear turned on on my FlickType. I just like exploring directly to the messages and email apps, that way I don’t have to hunt around for the edit menu to find paste etc. etc. Chuck

Build 41 is definitely a winner. It’s running very smoothly. To finger flick up for invoking the menu is working well.

I personally think the 2 finger flick up for the menu works just fine. I am not sure that we need another gesture unless the 2 finger flick up clashes with something else.

I agree, i am fine with the 2 finger swipe up, as the single finger swipe, was opening my control centre.
