Yep, as long as it is working well, I would see myself using standard iOS gestures such as rotor navigation for moving the cursor etc too.

Hey Chuck and Kosta,

I too was wondering if this could be a possibility with VoiceOver. I am still having issues with it crashing and not interacting with the screen below/to the top of the screen. This is from what I can tell an issue with iOS 12 beta 8. I am now just getting around to installing iOS 12 beta 9, I will soon see if this is any different.

Hi kosta .
I tried turning on " always show letters " to see the change . I noticed a bunch of red screens when this was turned on. 
Now I have it turned off and I have only seen one red screen .

I can't give any feedback on the visual changes, but the container app changes seem to be a good move. I would like to take this opportunity to request your consideration in a change in the spelling feedback feature. Currently the only options are all or nothing. Would it be possible to have 4 options? The 4 would be 1. All categories2. No spelling feedback 3. Only after the flick right to space 4. Only moving through words with the 2 finger flick right/left and moving through the alternative word list.. I only like the spelling feedback with the 2 finger flick right/left and and flicking through the alternative word list. Spelling feedback after a flick right to space is a bit bothersome to me. Thanks for your consideration.

Well, I'm not having very good luck with the half screen keyboard.  I am
running 11.4.1 on a 5S.  Typing an email or responding to an email has been
very difficult.  The gestures work inconsistently and the text may be in the
body of the email, but seem to disappear in FlickType.  The Text may be
there, but I cannot get FlickType to read it back.  I also cannot get the
read back gestures (2 finger & 3 finger flick) to read back the text.
Interacting with the upper half of the screen is difficult as well.  It does
sometimes seem the keyboard is full screen.  I just don't know how far to
touch in the upper half of the screen.  After interacting with the upper
half, getting starting with FlickType again is difficult because I cannot
make FlickType read everything I just typed.  Sometimes Flicktype just
crashes and I'm back to the iOS keyboard.  Also, the FlickType gestures seem
sluggish as well.  I have to flick multiple times to get a response.  I know
I'm rambling, but currently it just seems like everything is not working
well.  I don't like the jittery voice too.  All of the above is the same in
the messages app.  I had to type this on my PC.  Thanks.

We've been working hard to bring you the much desired half-screen mode. In
this very experimental build, we have added a new "Keyboard Height" setting
with the following options:
- "Full screen", which is the default mode FlickType has always operated in.
- "Almost full screen", which is 80% of the height and intended solely as a
WhatsApp workaround (previously called "Reduced height").
- "Half screen", which is exactly half the height of the screen.

The new "Half screen" option will also cause all text edits to be directly
committed to the underlying text field in real-time. This also means that
some voice announcements and sound effects from iOS itself will interfere
with the intended FlickType feedback. You will also have to play around with
the iOS typing feedback settings and see what works best for you. We'd love
to hear back your findings. 

Known issues with the half screen mode:
- If you move the app cursor inside a word, FlickType will crash. Only move
the cursor by whole words to prevents this.
- When deleting the very last word of the document, iOS will announce
"Bottom of document", suppressing the FlickType deletion announcement. A
workaround is to always have a word or punctuation mark after your cursor
while you compose your text. The same sometimes happens when changing a
word.
- Other occasional crashes.

Please let us know your experience with this, and any information you share
about what worked for you and what didn't will be extremely valuable moving
forward.

Thank you, Chuck. The good news about the crashes is that they should be fixable, and you should not be losing any text with the half screen mode since all text changes are immediately sent out to the app text field.

I just had the keyboard crash . I inserted the smiley face , and then did a two finger swipe left to insert a period and the keyboard flashed and changed to the iOS keyboard. I couldn't get anything to work until I hit the home button and then opened the email app in the app switcher .

I swipe up then down. However when I do 2 fingers on the screen , voiceover does not read the entire document.
